Workplace and home-office ergonomics
Workplace and home-office ergonomics is a secondary physiotherapy service for people seeking practical help with workstation setup, movement habits, position variation, task demands, and related musculoskeletal symptoms. Nicholas can review the actual work environment during an eligible GTA visit or use a virtual appointment for Ontario residents where appropriate. Recommendations are tailored to the observed setup and physiotherapy scope rather than presented as a guarantee against pain or injury. Employer or workplace inquiries are welcome, but report requirements and other deliverables must be clarified before booking.
Pathways
Individual assessments: For people seeking help with their own home or work setup. Whether you are experiencing pain while working or want to optimize your space for better movement, we provide one-on-one assessment and actionable advice.
Employer inquiries: For organizations asking about an individual or workplace ergonomic need. Please contact us to clarify the scope of what we can provide. Note that we do not promise formal written reports, employer correspondence, equipment procurement, or on-site corporate programs unless separately confirmed.
What an assessment can look like
We discuss your work routine, the physical demands of your tasks, and any musculoskeletal symptoms you are experiencing.
Assessment includes observing you at your workstation, reviewing your posture, and analyzing how you interact with your equipment.
Initial education involves strategies for position variation and practical workstation recommendations where appropriate.
Follow-up focuses on adjusting recommendations and movement habits based on your response, goals, and functional needs.
Delivery options
Ergonomics is context-dependent. Reviewing the environment where you work can help make recommendations more specific to your setup and tasks. Ergonomic assessments are available via:

Can you assess a home-office setup?
Yes. Home offices often lack the formal structure of a corporate workspace, making practical ergonomic advice especially valuable.
Is virtual ergonomic assessment available?
Virtual assessment may be an option for Ontario residents, allowing Nicholas to review the visible parts of your setup by video where appropriate.
Do you recommend specific equipment?
We provide practical workstation recommendations based on your needs, but we do not procure equipment directly.
Can employers contact Restore at Home about an assessment?
Yes, organizations can inquire about assessments for their employees, though scope and operational availability should be discussed prior to booking.
Will I receive a formal written report?
Report and deliverable requirements should be discussed before booking; a formal written report is not provided by default.
In-person and virtual availability
Eligible GTA in-person visits depend on location and scheduling. Virtual options are available to Ontario residents where appropriate.
