Sports injury rehabilitation for active adults

Sports injury rehabilitation is available for runners, gym-goers, recreational athletes, and active adults working back toward exercise or sport after a musculoskeletal injury. Care may include movement and strength assessment, education, graded loading, progressive exercise, and criterion-based activity progression where appropriate. Home, condo-gym, nearby activity, or virtual contexts can make it easier to review the equipment, movements, and routines that are relevant to you. In-person visits serve Toronto and select GTA communities, while virtual care is available across Ontario. Nicholas provides one-on-one care and adjusts the plan based on your response, goals, and activity demands.

Who this service may be for

This service is tailored for active adults returning to activity after a musculoskeletal injury. Nicholas draws on his background in kinesiology, personal training, and coaching to understand the demands of your sport and training routine.

What a visit can look like

We begin by analyzing your injury history, training routine, and specific return-to-sport goals.

Assessment focuses on movement quality, strength, and loading capacity related to your activity.

Initial treatment and education are provided where appropriate, leading into a structured rehabilitation plan.

Follow-up progression is criterion-based, adjusting your training load and exercises as you regain capacity.

Why mobile or virtual care makes sense for active adults

Rehabilitation is highly practical when it integrates seamlessly into your life.

Mobile and virtual care allow us to review your exercise setup in a condo or home gym, observe specific movement tasks, and understand your training context.

It can also make follow-up easier to fit into a busy schedule while supporting progression between visits without the commute to a clinic.

Common questions about physiotherapy at home

Do I need to stop all exercise while recovering?

Not necessarily. We focus on graded loading and modifying your activity rather than full rest, allowing you to maintain fitness safely where appropriate.

Can you work with my existing gym routine?

Yes. We can review your current routine, modify specific exercises to accommodate your injury, and help you transition back to full training.

Do you treat runners and recreational athletes?

Yes, we work with active adults returning to a variety of sports and activities.

Can sports rehabilitation be done virtually?

Many sports and exercise needs can be addressed virtually, including movement review, training modification, and criterion-based progression.

How do you decide when to progress activity?

We use criterion-based progression, moving to the next level of activity when you demonstrate sufficient strength, movement quality, and symptom tolerance.

What if my injury needs imaging or medical review?

If your assessment indicates the need for imaging or a medical opinion, we will recommend you follow up with a physician or sports medicine doctor.

In-person and virtual availability

Eligible GTA in-person visits depend on location and scheduling. Virtual options are available to Ontario residents where appropriate.
